62 students of Tech-Unis getting Prime Minister’s Gold Medal
Since 2005, UGC has been awarding the Prime Minister's Gold Medal to encourage students to excel in higher education. This year, 178 students from 36 universities have been nominated for the Prime Minister's Gold Medal. Among them, maximum 11 are getting gold medals from Dhaka University. After that 9 students are getting from Rajshahi and Chittagong University each.
Among them, the highest CGPA 3.99 has been achieved by Md. Mudassir Hossain Aqib from the Faculty of Science of DU, Swapnil Sayan Saha from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Shayan Shahriar from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; While Md. Shariful Islam from the Information and Communication Engineering Department of Rajashahi University scored CGPA 3.87.
Mohammad Noor Ali, a student of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Mohammad Nawaz Jamil, a student of Computer Science and Engineering Department scored CGPA 3.84; Tahsina Shams Sadia from Department of Soil Science of Faculty of Biology got 3.97 and Rayyan Ahmed from Department of Oceanography, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries scored 3.81.
Apart from them, 62 students are getting this honor from the Engineering and Technological Universities. Among them, there are 8 students from Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology who are getting the Prime Minister's Gold Medal : Ananya Khatun (Agriculture); Al Jannatun Noor (EEE), Nusrat Afrin Shilpa (Finance), Farzana Khatun (Fisheries); Suzana Dangal (Livestock), Rishat Hossain (Science), Babar Ahmed (Economics) and Afroza Sultana (Engineering).
From Shahjalal University of Science and Technology-SUST, 7 students are receiving this prestigious honor. They are: Pramod Chandra Baidya (Physical Science), Nusrat Jahan Tisha (Economics), Sadia Sinti Disha (Biochemistry), Mahbub Alam (Food Engineering), Sadia Raihana Akhter (Business Administration), Anjana Kuri (Forest and Environmental Science) and Mahesh Acharya (Medical Science).
Similarly, from Patuakhali University of Science and Technology 7 students awaits to receive the Prime Minister's Gold Medal. They are: Sharmin Sultana (Agriculture), Manish Saha (Computer Science), Shariful Islam (Accounting Science), Sanjita Rani Pal (Animal Science), Ritu Parna Dash (Fisheries), Maruf Yasmin Jami (Environment) Science) and Mohammad Hasib (Nutrition Science).
6 students from Jashore University of Science and Technology-JUST are going to the award. They are: Amit Kumar Mandal (EEE), Md. Hosne Ara Akhtar (Nutrition Science), Sapnil Biswas (Fisheries), Raihan Chowdhury (Physical Science), Md. Ismail (Chemistry) and Atiqur Rahman (English).
5 students from Bangladesh University of Engineering-BUET won this award. Theyare: Niaz Mohammad Jafri (Design Engineering), Sumaiya Afroz Soma (Civil), Shihab Sarar Ahmed (EEE), Abrar Amin Khan (Mechanical Engineering) and Nishat Tabassum (Chemical).
From Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology, 4 students are receiving the Prime Minister's Medal. They are: Mahmudul Hasan (Computer Engineering), Sharmin Akhter (Life Science), Sultana Razia (Science) and Md. Mominul Islam (Social Science).
From the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology-CUET, 4 students are getting this Medal. They are: Jobaida Sultana (Design and Planning), Maisha Kabir (Civil), Md. Rashedur Rahman (Electrical and Computer) and Radhe Shyam Nath Jesus (Mechanical).
4 students from Pabna University of Science and Technology are on the medal receiving list. They are: Karimul Islam (Science), SM Hasnat Jamil (Civil), Taseerul Islam (Economics) and Moushumi Akhtar (Business Administration).
4 more students from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology are receiving the Prime Minister's Medal. They are SM Ismail Hossain (Accounts), Rafiqul Islam (Social Science), Seema Roy (English) and Sultana Anjuman (Law).
From Rajshahi University of Science and Technology-RUST, 3 student naming Sumaiya Tabassum (Civil), Mohiuddin Ahmed (EEE) and Miftahul Mobin Chowdhury (Mechanical) are receiving this medal.
3 students naming Mohaimenul Islam (Civil), Khadijatul Kubra (EEE) and Ismail Hossain (Mechanical) from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) await to receive the medal.
From Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology-DUET, 3 students: Md Parvez (Civil), Bikash Chandra Biswas (EEE) and Md. Osman Ali (Mechanical); 3 students from Noakhali University of Science and Technology: Subid Babu Sen Amit (Computer Science), Nazmul Hasan (Social Science) and Belayet Hossain (Agriculture Science) won the Prime Minister's Gold Medal this year.
Aliza Sharmin of Industrial Production Engineering Department is receiving Prime Minister's Gold Medal from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology from among the private universities.
